An HD or hierarchical deterministic wallet like Edge generates a new address for every request or transaction. All addresses from that same wallet can continue to receive funds even though the address has changed.

The reason why the address automatically changes is so that users will have more privacy and no one will easily be able to find out the total balance of their account by simply looking up a single address.

It is important to note that Ethereum addresses do not change for every transaction for the Edge wallet as the tokens will need to be tied to a specific address and also so that tokens can be spent out with the gas it has.
